Creating your Heart Rate Zones
Your heart rate zones and percentages will be calculated using age and sex.
Max Heart Rate (Male) = 214 - age * .08
Max Heart Rate (Female) = 209 - age * .07
This method is commonly named the 'Age-Based Calculation' and is probably the
one that came with the instructions for your heart rate monitor. This method
is the least accurate calculation because of the fact that everyone's fitness
level and physical composition are very individualistic.
